Answer: Terrafly subscription service is for every individual user or organization who wants to have a longer flight time than usual. We had to limit the flight time due to increased load on our servers. The subscription service is our way to ensure that the users that really need to take the full advantage of Terrafly can do so without any service outages. A substantially more liberal quota is in effect from 6pm ET to 8am ET.
Question: How do I subscribe to Terrafly.com premium subscription service?
Answer: There are three ways of subscribing to Terrafly.com: A. You can start flying and once your quota is up, Terrafly will automatically take you to a page where you can subscribe to the service; B. You can mark any area and click dispense. On the order page you will see the subscription options and prices at the bottom of the page. C. You can click on the following URL: http://dispense.cs.fiu.edu/subscription
Question: How much does it cost?
Answer: Following are the current prices for Terrafly subscription: Single user, 1 month $100.00 Single user, 1 year $400.00 Organization with 1-50 users, 1 month $150.00 Organization with 1-50 users, 1 year $600.00
Question: Is it free for government officials?
Answer: Free subscriptions are available only to staff members of our government and industrial sponsors (presently, NASA, NSF, USGS, IBM, and State of Florida) and educators involved in NASA Earth Sciences Program -- please email requests to firstname.lastname@example.org
Question: Do I get to download images for free as part of this subscription?
Answer: NO. The subscription is only for "Flights". You will have to follow the same process for downloading images and pay for them through PayPal. Subscription does include some more detailed reports in the Point Data pages.
Question: What do you mean by "Almost quota free" flights?
Answer: "Almost quota free" means practically quota-free but we do reserve the right to stop extraordinary abuse.
